Actuator valve

At  basic level an actuator valve is a control mechanism that is operated by an power source. This energy can be used hydraulic pressure or electric current that moves the internal mechanical parts of the actuator valve actuation product manager, They can be design actuators to fail open in the case of actuator failure. The valve will stay open or fail close in case of actuator failure, the valve will stay closed. They also are distinguished by whether they are for quarter turn or linear valve operation.

Spring actuator valve
Pneumatic actuator valve
Hydraulic actuator valve
Direct Gas actuator valve
Gas Over Oil actuator valve
Electric actuator valve

Double actuator valve

 in a double acting configuration have air or liquid supplied to both sides of the valve piston, with one side being high pressure which achieves the movement required to actuate the valve. This configuration uses the air or liquid as energy to both open and close the double actuator valve.

Spring actuator

Spring actuators in a spring return configuration have air or liquid supplie to only one side of the valve  piston, and the energy to move the mechanisms come from a spring on the opposite actuator valve. This configuration uses the air or liquid as energy to open or close the valve, while the spring acts to affect the opposite motion to spring actuator.

Pneumatic  actuator

Pneumatic actuators utilize compressed air to generate the pneumatic actuator operating energy. These actuators are quick to respond, but are not ideal for environments under high pressures, as gas is compressible. Pneumatic actuators can be either spring return or double acting types actuator valve.

Piston Style actuator

actuators generate linear force by the air acting on the piston style actuator valve. The conversion of this linear force to torque is achieved by specific actuator valve designs.

Scotch Yoke actuator

A scotch yoke actuator valve  includes a piston, connecting shaft and rotary pin. The yoke is offset 45 degrees from the axis of the piston at the two ends of travel and at 90 degrees to the piston shaft when in the mid travel position of the actuator valve. The canted scotch yoke actuator valve  design is ideal for offset butterfly valve actuation.

Rack and Pinion  actuator

Unlike traditional actuators, which produce a 90 degree turn of the pinion, rack, and pinion, actuators output 180-degree turn. This style of rack and pinion actuator is particularly suitable for actuating plug valves.

Diaphragm Style actuator

The diaphragm style actuator valve includes a rubber diaphragm and stem in a circular steel housing. This style of actuators valve is ideal for valves requiring shorter travel, such as diaphragm valves and globe valves.

Hydraulic  actuator

Hydraulic actuators valve use liquid as a means to apply pressure to the hydraulic actuators mechanical components. They generally can exert a large amount of energy force, because liquid is not compressible, but are generally limited in acceleration and speed. Hydraulic actuators can be either spring return or double acting actuator valve.

Piston Style actuator valve

Piston style actuators valve hydraulic actuators function the same way at pneumatic piston style actuators, but utilize liquid instead of gas to generate the operating piston style actuator energy.
Direct Gas actuator
Direct gas actuators valve is utilize a high pressure natural gas or nitrogen supply to on or off control of a direct gas actuator valve in any natural gas transmission application. Direct gas actuators only come in double acting configurations.

Gas Over Oil actuator

Gas over oil actuators valve use high pressure gas supply from the pipe, suspended above a hydraulic fluid to move the mechanics of the gas over oil  actuator. actuators only come in double acting configuration.

Electric actuator

Electric actuator use a power such as a battery or other power source to run the electric actuator. They usually include intricate electrical circuitry to program when the electric actuator operates. Because of their use of electricity as a power source.
